Two (2) x Research Outreach Workers: Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research (CeSHHAR) Zimbabwe

Background
The Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research (CeSHHAR) Zimbabwe is a non-government organization undertaking multi-disciplinary research in the areas of HIV prevention and care, sexual reproductive health (SRH), male circumcision and early childhood development in Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description
Under the general guidance of the Research Director, Key Populations and under the direct supervision of the Social Scientist, the Research Outreach Workers will support the Key Populations Research Department in field research. Duties and responsibilities for the Research Outreach Workers will include: Assist the Social Scientist to recruit and enrol study participants as appropriate; Plan, organize and arrange the data collection activities and help in tracking female sex workers as needed; Review and edit collected data to ensure completeness and accuracy of information, follow up with subjects to resolve data queries; Maintain accurate records of study participants and safeguarding their confidentiality; Maintain contact with enrolled study participants as relevant to ensure limited loss to follow-up; Conduct qualitative in-depth interviews with female sex workers using pre-developed topic guides, data collection and documentation procedures; Translating and transcribing qualitative data to high standards; Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including support for other studies related to the Key Populations Research Division.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with two years of research/community work experience or higher national diploma with extensive experience in community development, outreach and/or research; Good initiative and ability to plan and manage activities with limited supervision; Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results; Demonstrable experience and interest in community outreach work; Ability to conduct qualitative research; Experience working with vulnerable populations (sex workers) an added advantage; Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; Capacity to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds; Ability to work independently and proactively; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Current and valid certificate in GCP and Ethics; Computer competency including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
