Research Managers Business Development X 2 REF: HR/RMBD/10/2020 HARARE
JOB SUMMARY
To improve Council market position and achieve financial growth. To prospect for new clients by networking, advertising and generating interest from potential clients. This position reports to the Assistant Director Test Design, Educational Assessment and Measurement.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Establish and maintain current and potential client relationships.
• Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
• Prepare business and development plans.
• Planning and Overseeing new marketing initiatives
• Researching Organisations and Individuals to find new opportunities.
• Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
• Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.
• Implement policies, apply statistical theories, methods and procedures related to various ZIMSEC programmes. Proven sales experience in a related product or service
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and non-technical concepts clearly and concisely
• Expert understanding of service and product, and ability to innovate new ways the product can serve customers
• Excellent organisational skills to meet goals and set priorities
• Innate drive to succeed and take initiative
• Strong organisational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments
• Training personnel and helping team members develop key skills.
• Attending conferences, meetings and Council business development events
• Engage in special projects allocated by Senior Management/departments and ensure that deliverables are met timeously.

Qualifications and Experience

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• A Business related degree in Business Administration, Statistics/Operations/ Marketing or Equivalent
• Masters degree in Business Administration/ Operations Research, Statistics or Equivalent
• Certificate or diploma in Education an added advantage

• Good project management skills
• Excellent business development skills
• Good Marketing skills
• Good analytical skills and solution-focused person
• Ability to work well in a team
• Emotionally intelligent
• A proven and traceable success record.
• Experience in working with private and sensitive information.
• Strong computer skills and ability to use necessary data bases software such as SPSS, STATA, Conquest, MS Access, MS Excel.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills and task management
• Values Quality and Efficiency.
