To support the Laboratory department in carrying out research and development projects.
• Develop procedures and work instructions for microbiology.
• Monitor yeast propagation and fermentation process.
• Critical path analysis of cane juice from frontend (mills) to back end (distillery).
• Trouble shooting stuck fermentation.
• Analysis of water samples from the fields.
• Production of sanitizer.
• Nutrient optimisation for fermentation process.
• Carry out Research and Development projects.
• Write weekly microbiology reports and submit to Chief Chemist.
• Bsc degree in Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology or any equivalent qualification.
• Quality Assurance certificate is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO9001.
• GLP Good Laboratory Practices.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a yeast propagation/brewing/fermentation environment.
