RECONCILIATIONS MANAGER

Job Description

Responsible for managing the reconciliation activities with the Banking Operations department, ensuring payments obligations, are made in such ways that meets our customers’ needs, and that there are adequate systems and controls in place to mitigate the risk that might be used to commit financial crime through banking operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Ensuring every transaction is correct, fair and auditable for the product transactional life of every customer.
-Implement appropriate systems and controls to satisfy legal and compliance obligations, and reduce the risk of financial losses to OneZB from operational errors to an acceptable level
-Oversee and successfully provide assurance around the reconciliation of incoming and outgoing payments, and operational cash balances working alongside the Service Centre areas to ensure appropriate resolution.
-Making all payments out to customers
-Maintaining an approved list of payment authorisers and making sure procedures are in place for those in the list to make the payments in a timely fashion.
-Ensure Compliance and Internal Audit recommendations are reviewed and where appropriate implemented.
-Adhere to Company Risk Management policy and procedures, including reporting of incidents or breaches.
-Line management of the Reconciliation team
-Ensuring OneZB payment methods to and from customers are efficient, controlled and convenient for the customer.
-Ensuring client money is reconciled following FCA’s rules where appropriate.
-Ensure a comprehensive dashboard is managed that will ensure both statutory and best practice financial processes are being completed in a timely manner (e.g. Bank Account Reconciliations and Valuation Processing etc.) and is routinely updated.

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
-4+ years of relevant experience
-Previous experience in oversight of receipt and allocation of customer money
-Previous operational controls experience at a manager level
-Ability to produce, analyse and interpret reports that demonstrate compliance and successful risk mitigation
-Experience of digitising services
