PUBLISHING ASSISTANT

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
 Coordinating, overseeing and/or performing a wide variety if administrative, secretarial and publishing support activities on behalf of the Director, University Publications.
 Serving as primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external contacts of the University Publications Unit, often on information and office management issues.
 Coordinating the provision of office and staff support services and oversees and/or participates in the coordination, supervision and completing of the Unit’s special projects and/or events.
 Serving on a variety of committees in a support capacity.
 Serving as the confidential and personal assistant to the Director.
 Any other duties as may be assigned by the Director.

Qualifications and Experience

Desired Qualifications and Experience
 A basic Degree in Communication or related field.
 A qualification in Office Management and/or Higher National Diploma, or equivalent, in Secretarial Studies.
 A qualification in Desk-Top Publishing would be a distinct advantage.
 At least 2 years working experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferably in a publishing outfit.
