Responsible and accountable for the provincial nursing and midwifery services. Plans, organizes, directs, manages, coordinates and oversees the activities and operations of provincial nursing services and programs including community nursing activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manages day-to-day running of nursing and midwifery activities in the provinces. 2. Supervises and appraises District Nursing Officers. 3. In collaboration with the MCH coordinator, facilitates the implementation of all MCH/FP activities. 4. Plans, monitors and evaluates nursing activities in the province so as to ensure high nursing standards. 5. Provides supportive, technical, administrative and psychological supervision of nursing activities in the province. 6. Plans and assesses provincial human resource need and facilitates training. 7. Ensures equitable distribution of nursing personnel. 8. Maintains an up to date information data base relative to nurse training education activities. 9. Promotes and initiates relevant operational research.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. Diploma/Degree in Nursing 2. Diploma/Degree in midwifery 3. Diploma/Degree in community nursing 4. Masters' Degree in Nursing Science/Midwifery or Public Health 5. At least 2 years' experience as a District Nursing Officer 6. Current registration with Nurses Council of Zimbabwe
