A vacancy has arisen for a Project Officer ( Civil Engineer) to be engaged for a Fixed Term Contract subject to further extension as per the availability of similar projects.
The selected candidate shall be engaged for water, sewer and road designs together with civil works
- To undertake detailed designs for water, road and sewer networks.
- Develop a Project Brief, Project Plan and full scope of work based on the approved Designs
-Develop a detailed Project Works Breakdown including a detailed Program of Works for the project
-Establish the project team structure and monitor compliance to roles
-Supervise the project team on site including civil engineers, skilled and unskilled personnel and subcontractors
-Accurately report and monitor progress on the site for internal use and for external project stakeholders such as the Client
-Monitor project resources against the project budget and initiate the necessary corrective actions
-Lead and oversee all civil works and the overall project progress
-Manage pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for all project works including pre-commissioning checks, correction of defects, etc
-Compile and coordinate all project handover drawings including As Built Drawings
-Any other duties as may be assigned
-Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable Polytechnic or University
-At least 3 years total experience as a Civil Engineer
-Experience in the land development sector will be an added advantage
-Professional qualification in Project Management
-Registration with Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers
-A clean class 4 driver’s license
-Excellent oral and written communication skills in technical and administrative roles
- Knowledge of design softwares such as: Auto cad, Civil 3D, Archi cad and Procon design. Own laptop will be an added advantage
