CARE began working in Zimbabwe in 1992 in response to a severe regional drought. After establishing a drought mitigation program, CARE began longer term developmental programs with local partners in building small dams, strengthening local microfinance institutions, and launching projects to assist small businesspersons in the rural areas.

Project Field Officer- Mberengwa

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for effective implementation of project activities and task assigned and to provide coaching and mentoring support to community focal persons in order to attain project goals and objectives

Key duties and Responsibilities

Implements project activities as per the agreed Mid-Term Review (MTR) workplan and guidance from District Supervisor and the Technical Specialists.

Establishes and maintains community structures to support girls’ education, including setting up of community based leadership, Peer leaders, Community Learning Circles (CLCs), Community Champions and other learning groups.

Mobilizes and supports community network of girls` education champions such as Peer leaders.

Conducts virtual and one-on-one refresher training for community focal persons on various components of the project intervention.

Conducts regular capacity gap assessments and provides targeted coaching and mentoring support to community focal persons as per needs based.

Supports M&E officer with process monitoring of activities.

Documents stories of significant change on a regular basis and project lessons learned.

Compiles of activity reports and submitting to the District Field Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
• Degree in Social Sciences/Education or equivalent.
• 2-3 years working experience in community mobilization in support of girls’ education with demonstrated ability to establish community structures and providing coaching and mentoring support towards promoting girls education.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Valid class 3 motorbike riding license
