The UCT Graduate School of Business invites applications for a contract position (ending August 2021) as Programme Coordinator for the MPhil in Inclusive Innovation Programme. Individuals who are dynamic and energetic, with a sound understanding of adult learning principles and a strong stakeholder focus are invited to apply. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the graduate research administrative process; student support; and program delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Coordinator will be required to: • manage the graduate research administration process, including registration, MOUs, proposal submission, dissertation examination, and coordination with the appropriate academic committees; • initiate, organize and coordinate all programme meetings and activities; coordinate resources required including venues, course website, accommodation, catering, equipment and entertainment bookings etc.; • execute financial administration of programme expenses to ensure cost-efficiency and appropriate financial performance, including payments of service providers on time and within set parameters; • build and manage productive relationships with associated GSB service providers, internal and external stakeholders, as well as the individual students; • support students during contact and online sessions and inter-modular periods and communicate with stakeholders where relevant regarding student progress; • work effectively and professionally with the Program Director and the GSB Academic Office.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will need to have: • a relevant NQF 6 qualification; • demonstrated programme/project-related experience; • excellent organisational and administrative skills; planning and multi-tasking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; • a high level of diplomacy, emotional intelligence and personal integrity; • an ability to work independently, exercise judgement and establish priorities and display personal initiative; • excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students, as well as with external stakeholders and senior managers in the public and private sectors; • an understanding of administrative policy and procedures within the Higher Education environment; • a high level of computer proficiency; and • working knowledge of Peoplesoft will be a strong advantage. The annual remuneration package will fall between R402 275 and R473 264.
