Program Intern: African Wildlife Foundation (AWF)

For more than 60 years, the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) has been a leader in African conservation and sustainable development. AWF is seeking a dynamic and high performing intern to undertake a variety of programmatic and administrative tasks for its programs and office in Zimbabwe. This Internship will offer experiential learning and will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe for a period of 6-months reporting to the Country Manager, Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Support the implementation of project activities; With guidance from the line manager and the Finance and Administration Assistant, organize, plan and implement all logistics for a workshop to develop AWF’s Conservation Strategy for Zimbabwe; Support logistical arrangements to field staff for Zimbabwe programs; Organize, plan and participate in all meetings, workshops; Manage, update and analyze local and field office central database as required; Compile field stories as guided by the visibility and communication plan; Participate as required in sector meetings with stakeholders and partners; Undertake a variety of administrative duties; Undertake any relevant duties as requested

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Social Science, Wildlife Management or any other relevant program; High aptitude; Strong academic performance as demonstrated by University record; Exposure to a work environment or previous work experience is a strong advantage; Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with attention to detail; Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite; Ability to manage competing priorities; Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; Strong time management skills; Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with the highest level of professional; Must have excellent oral and written Communication skills; Good record management skills; Interest in Conservation and AWF’s mission
