Program Driver: Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC)

Background
Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC) is implementing the Pathways OVC Project in Insiza and Lupane District in Matabeleland South and North Provinces. Pathways is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The project is targeting the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and their Caregivers through streamlined individual based interventions premised on the project four domains in Healthy, Safe, Stable and Schooled. IGAC is looking for suitably qualified individuals to fill in the above mentioned posts.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of Administration Officer the Driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to IGAC project and Staff; ensure adequate safety, cleanliness security and maintenance of project vehicle assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
Objectives
Adhere to vehicle service guidelines; Ensure safety of organizational vehicles at all times; Ensure availability of all necessary documents/ supplies including log sheet, vehicle licensing discs, fire extinguisher, spare wheel etc; Plan routes and requirements by studying schedule or ad-hoc request by the Office; Ensure passengers adhere to all road safety regulations; Fulfil special request by picking up and delivering items as directed; Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

5 Ordinary level passes; Unendorsed driver’s licence (class 4, class 2 will be an added advantage) and experience in driving 4x4 vehicles; Defensive driver’s licence; Must respect and adhere to all safety and traffic rules; NGO Driving experience; Experience in basic vehicle maintenance; Good written and spoken English and Ndebele; Knowledge of the project area.; Must be computer literate; Should be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision, effective communicator; Flexible to work weekend and after hours and be on call when ever need arise.
