Job Description

Applications from suitably qualified persons are invited for the above vacancy which has arisen within the Town Clerk's Department. The Procurement Officer reports to the Procurement Manager.

• Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases. • Creates and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers. • Make professional decisions in a fast paced environment. • Maintain records of purchases, pricing and other important data. • Review and analyze all vendors/ suppliers, supply and price options. • Implementing plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies. • Ensure that products and supplies are high quality. • Work with team members and procurement manager to complete duties as needed. • Ensures adherence to standard operating, PPDPA Act and Regulations. • Preparation of tender documents and bidding documents.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Purchasing and Supply Management or Equivalent. • A professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply • Chain Management) an added advantage. • At least 3 years' experience with strong bias towards Public Sector procurement. • Membership of a recognized professional body. • Holder of at least a clean class 4 driver's licence.
