A Local Civil Engineering company seeks to recruit suitable candidates for position that has arisen in its structure.

Position: Plant and Workshop Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description

●Develop and improve systems and processes to aid the effective running of the plant
department and workshop department
●Liaising with Project Engineers to assess priority plant needs
●Maintain Inventory of all Plant and equipment.
●Be able to monitor and report back on plant usage through service due reports.
●complete the administration involved in the role including keeping accurate information
relating to all aspects across the plant department.
●Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work
●To Extract relevant information from Plant team regarding required maintenance and
convert in plan for execution.
●Systemize application of maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance
work quality
●Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job
records database
●Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of technical information on processes, plant and
equipment.
●Convert the organization’s asset management and maintenance strategy into workplace
activities
●Apply good stores management practices and parts management to ensure parts and
equipment retain full reliability while stored
●Responsible for communicating the requirement of Equipment for maintenance activities
●Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability,
maintenance department performance and planning and scheduling business flow
process
●Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, stores, data management and
job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency


●Collaborate with workshop supervisor to schedule manpower and resources for the most
effective maintenance outcomes
●Prepare invoices for Plant and equipment hire.

Qualifications and Experience

Skills and Qualifications
●Degree in Logistics or any related field
●At least 5 years’ experience in construction industry
●Proven experience in prioritizing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, both internally and through external contractors for heavy plant and associated equipment.
●Be a good communicator and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the likes of Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors around plant requirements.
●Have a good understanding and demonstrative experience of heavy civil engineering and technical elements.
●Excellent communication and people skills
