Job Description

Zimbabwe Platinum Mining (Pvt) United (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producers in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates Ngezi Underground Mines, Ngezi Concentrator and the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC)

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be part of the dynamic team based at Ngezi, reporting to the Shift Boss.

JOB TITLE - Overseer Miner

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Ensuring safety of personnel and machinery
• Enforcing all relevant Mining Regulations
• Effectively planning, leading and controlling all mining activities in the section
• Deploying and ensuring optimum utilization of equipment to achieve set targets
• Achieving benchmarked efficiencies and productivity excellence in drilling, blasting, support and hauling activities
• Enforcing adherence to ZIMPLATS mining standards at any given time

Qualifications and Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENT&
• Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• NEC registration and full blasting licence
• Minimum of 3 years mining experience in underground mechanized mining operations
• Experience in room and pillar mining method will be an added advantage
• Supervision experience a must
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
