OSC Counsellor: Zimbabwe Association of Church Related Hospitals (ZACH)

Reporting to: Programme Officer – ZACH
Station: Chimanimani District – Manicaland Province

The Zimbabwe Association of Church related Hospitals (ZACH) is in 4 districts (Umguza, Umzingwane, Chimanimani and Kwekwe) seeking to facilitate the roll out of OSC model for providing comprehensive care to survivors of gender based violence through increasing survivor safety and perpetrator accountability by coordinating and linking core services, including immediate to long term health care, access to police and legal services, and culturally and age appropriate counselling services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
To provide psychological counselling and guidance to the Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) affected by gender Based Violence (GBV); To support in referral services that may be deemed fit for the women affected by violence based on her needs; To assist in the write up of case history of the AGYW affected by GBV; To provide assistance and support in facilitating services to AGYW accessing OSC; Responsible for maintaining hygiene and sanitation at OSC; To maintain visitors register, provide information on legal services/ police/ medical assistance sheet to the women; To provide basic Kit to survivors of GBV; To help any other staff with referrals and do such other ancillary work as requested by the supervisor; To be responsible for other work as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Required qualifications
Minimum of Degree/Diploma in counselling; HIV Rapid testing qualification a distinct advantage; Good standing with the community being served is a must; Good knowledge of English and report writing skills required; Previous mobilizing, HIV testing and M&E experience would be an added advantage
