Online Education Project Manager
(1-year contract)
Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED)

The Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to this one-year contract position as ONLINE EDUCATION PROJECT MANAGER with strong BUSINESS ANALYST experience.
This will assist CILT in two key areas: to run a business analysis and requirements process for enhancing UCT’s educational technology infrastructure and to offer project management support to deliver high quality blended and online courses. Applicants should be highly organized and bring business analysis, project management and financial management experience along with an understanding of the current challenges facing higher education.

The annual cost of employment, including benefits, is between R669 291 - R723,556 per annum.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements:

• An NQF level 7 qualification
• 5 years relevant work experience (including at least 2 years’ experience related to the provision of educational technology in a tertiary education context)
• Evidence of substantial project management skills and experience
• Evidence of substantial business analysis skills and experience
• Experience of doing project monitoring and evaluation
• Ability to conduct financial planning, budgeting and management of expenditure at project level
• Experience of working successfully on collaborative projects with a range of stakeholders
• Knowledge of the issues and challenges around digital tools and educational technologies in the higher education context
• Ability to take initiative and provide leadership
• Problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, report writing, good presentation skills and an uncompromising attitude to meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Proven high level analytical and interpretive abilities
• Honesty and integrity in handling and managing finances

The following would be advantageous:
• Experience of applied research
• Experience in business development planning
• A postgraduate qualification
