About
Africaid is a community organisation which through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. Works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council in implementing these interventions with funding from USAID, Zim-TTECH, UNICEF, ELMA, READY+, Maruva Trust and ZACH.

Position summary
The Zvandiri Mentor’s role is a key position as s/he implements the Zvandiri progamme within a specific district with very huge demands at any given time hence the person should be a clinician; good at multi- tasking; be a team player who achieves balance in their life and grow the enthusiasm of fellow employees for the global achievement of the organisational set goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job description
The Zvandiri Mentor will be responsible for coordinating the scale up of Africaid’s Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) services through technical capacity building of MoHCC service providers and support and mentorship of CATS in various districts of Zimbabwe. This role will include amongst other things, coordination of Africaid’s project activities in the districts, in accordance with the approved project work plans ensuring timeous delivery of the project to the required quality standards. It will also seek to ensure that all programme beneficiaries receive the appropriate differentiated care, based on the CATS Zvandiri Intervention Model.

Qualifications and Experience


Qualifications
The Zvandiri Mentor must have: A National Diploma in General Nursing; Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Social Sciences preferred; at least three (3) years’ experience in community development and/or mobilisation; experience working with children and adolescents living with HIV essential; comprehensive understanding of Africaid’s Zvandiri Model desirable; demonstrated experience in adolescent HIV/ART programming, including community, peer-led interventions; fluency in English and Shona or Ndebele a requirement; knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care systems.
