Media Producer: Local NGO

Duration: 12 Months (with possibility of extension)
Summary
A start-up media house is looking to fill this production position. The candidate must have completed a degree or higher national diploma in journalism and media studies or/as well as experience in graphic designing, videography and production. They should have worked or have been attached to a media house and also possess the following:
Strong social media competences with a strong footprint on ability to work with Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tik Tok and Twitter broadcasts; Have skills and experience in video editing and graphic designing; They should always be a step ahead in knowing the social media trends; Competence in current affairs, features, community, development news and lifestyle writing; Good communication skills at personal and professional level is a basic requirement; They should have a learning outlook and be willing to go above and beyond expected standards; They should be self-driven and ready to create a strong foundation for this start-up; The candidate should possess the ability to work under pressure; The candidate should also be able to work with minimum supervision and produce agreed deliverables within set timelines; The candidate should be highly professional.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Competencies
Diploma or degree qualification in visual arts, media production or journalism; proficiency in using Adobe Suite and/ Corel, iMovie and other relevant graphic and visual programs; proven experience (portfolio) in content creation; consistent record in generating innovative ideas - and of original approaches and treatment for existing materials; experience of adapting material for various purposes to maximize impact, experience using a variety of platforms and formats, including online, social media native formats and newsletters; outstanding storytelling abilities; creating engaging content; attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality pieces; creative approach to problem solving; a self-starter with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team; ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people; inside and outside of the organization; high level of planning and organisation skills; capable of dealing with several projects at a time; prioritizing effectively; flexibility and adaptability; particularly in the face of changing priorities and circumstances.
