Job Description
Zimbabwe Power Company is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation's electrical power requirements from its five power stations. ZPC is undertaking various projects that are meant to dose the gap between electrical energy demand and supply. The company is now on the execution stage of the 600MW Hwange Power Station: Expansion Project. We are therefore inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following 20 various vacant positions of the project that have arisen on a fixed term contract bas is of up to 18 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Monitors product import and export processes to ensure compliance with the regulatory and legal requirements
• Ensures carrier compliance with the Country's taws and regulations on goods transportation and delivery
• Negotiates with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability
• Collaborates with other departments in integrating logistics with business systems and processes
• Analyses all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost effective or efficient means of transporting goods
• Responsible for tracking and facilitating receiving, and stocking of all items delivered to site
• Coordinate with the Contractor to execute logistics plan to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule
• Implementation of IMS
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Logistics or transport management or Degree in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent
• At least 3 years practical fulltime experience in a similar position
• Membership of a professional institution added advantage
