Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

To provide legal support to PRAZ to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory frameworks in Zimbabwe.

Duties and Responsibilities


• Participate in the formulation and implementation of policies, processes and procedures including all legal matters in line with PRAZ's mandate;
• Ensuring compliance with corporate governance framework, internal controls and statutory regulations in line with the prevailing legislation;
• Inputs into the development and compilation of monthly and quarterly reports on the department's performance;
• Maintaining and handling PRAZ litigation cases;
• Appear in court to give expert evidence on procurement matters
• Drafting, assessing and reviewing legal documents relating to the Authority's mandate;
• Conduct research, interpret laws and court decisions in relation to their impact on PRAZ;
• Participates in the negotiation and resolution of contractual obligations;
• Participates in capacity building trainings for procuring entities and bidders in relation to legal aspects of public procurement.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Laws LL. B Degree, (an LL. B(Hon) shall be an added advantage);
• A Minimum of 4 to 5 years' working experience in the legal field,
• A minimum of 2 years' working experience in Corporate Law and/or Legal Advice;
• Member of a professional body in relevant field;
• Good understanding of Statutory Interpretation;
• Must be computer literate;
• Good communication skills;
• Must be able to work under pressure;
• Must be able to work with others and as an individual.
