Background: The Organic Africa group of regenerative enterprises (B’Ayoba, KaZa, La Rochelle Centre, Organic Africa Holdings, Stevia Zimbabwe) has the aim to improve social, economic and environmental sustainability in Africa. We cultivate and wild harvest high value certified herbs, spices, medicinal and indigenous plants with small-scale farming communities, wild collectors as well as on our own farms. Legal and Compliance Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all contractual agreements for farms, offices, offtake arrangements and profit-sharing are prepared, completed, and signed in a manner that is legally enforceable.
• Monitors and reports on adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines, and specifications relevant to business processes, including company secretarial and general operating licences.
• Monitors and reports on adherence to internal policies, processes and systems, including purchasing, asset management and general office operations.
• Gathers information through automated or manual means, alerting or reporting on information relevant to intended purposes for risk monitoring, and provides inputs to ongoing risk assessment and response processes

Qualifications and Experience


Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in law, risk management, finance, business management, or a related field
• ICSAZ – Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
• 3-5 years’ experience in risk management
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and with minimal supervision
• Ability to interpret contracts and leases.
