The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Faculty of Applied Science: -
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor - Statistics and Operations Research (10)
Department of Statistics and Operations Research
Duties and Responsibilities
The job responsibilities include research and innovation in operations research and Statistics. They would be expected to teach courses in Operations Research areas such as Linear Programming, lnterger Programming, Global Optimisation and Decision Theory. They would also be expected to teach courses in Statistics areas such as Probability Theory, Design and Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Survey Methods, Stochastic Processes, Simulation, Queueing Theory, Multivariate Analysis and Statistical Quality Control at Undergraduate level.
In addition, the job responsibilities include teaching at post-graduate level courses such as Financial Modelling, Stochastic Modelling, Simulation Modelling and Forecasting. They are also expected to have an interest in directing student research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a minimum qualification of a good Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Operations Research and Statistics/Operations Research/Statistics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics.
The applicants must have a minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Operations Research and Statistics/Statistics/Operations Research. Having a PhD or studying towards one in the above disciplines will be an added advantage.
