Lead Driver: Organisation of Rural Associations (ORAP)

Introduction
The Organisation of Rural Associations (ORAP) presents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill the vacancy of Lead Driver. ORAP is a leading local NGO involved in development and relief (emergency) work in rural communities in Matabeleland North, Matabeleland South and Midlands provinces. It exists to fight all forms of poverty among the rural and urban grassroots communities of disadvantaged women, men and youth through the empowerment of people by facilitating their development in their diverse cultural contexts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties
Daily banking and administration duties; Collecting statements and receipts from service providers; Delivery of Governing Board’s correspondence; Scanning and filing of relevant documents; Fuel liquidations; Transportation of staff to and from their homes; Collecting staff from airport or inter city buses drop offs; Delivery and collection of vehicles to and from mechanics; Keeping order and safety on the bus; Reports all vehicle malfunctions to the Operations Officer; Completing log sheets and accounting for fuel daily; Conducting basic vehicle checks daily; Notifying the supervisor when the vehicle is due for service; Keeping vehicles clean and presentable; Any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and experience
Minimum of 5 O’ levels; Class one driver’s licence (more than two years driving passengers); Valid defensive driver’s certificate; Computer literacy, ideally in Microsoft office such as word and Excel; A high degree of numeracy, accuracy and thoroughness, is essential; Competent at record keeping and document management; Demonstrated ability to manage a position of responsibility and confidentiality; Ability to converse fluently in English and Ndebele; Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage.
