Job Description

The new NSSA conducts its business in an honest, accountable, and transparent manner and we seek to recruit like-minded individuals in the following areas:

Investments Analyst- (Head Office): Grade 13

Duties and Responsibilities


Reporting to the Investment Manager, the successful candidate will generate investment income and grow the portfolio Authority with particular focus on agriculture related investment projects as part of the Authority's strategic drive to invest in agriculture value chains.
Key Outputs:
• Set the platform for portfolio management, tracking and reviews by developing an annual portfolio management strategy to assess the fit of equity investments to NSSA's overall strategic asset allocation.
• Carry out investments analysis which includes portfolio rebalancing, private equity investments as well as capital markets investment review.
• Conduct routine evaluation of overall portfolio performance against benchmark performance to enable informative recommendations for decision making during the review of the portfolio.
• Develop concise evaluation models for optimal use in company evaluations.
• Develop and maintain an investment research and data recording system.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifying Requirements
• A Degree in Agriculture Economics/Agriculture Finance or Business/Economics/Finance/Investments or equivalent
• A post graduate business qualification such as an MBA, MSc ,CFA or CA etc is an added advantage.
• At least 2 year's post graduate professional experience in Corporate Finance and Investments, including hands-on experience in deal origination, due diligence, structuring and executing investments in agriculture, infrastructure, utilities and private equity.

Key Competencies and Characteristics
• Proven experience in large scale agriculture investment projects.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural investment projects.
• Thorough understanding of national strategy on agriculture development in Zimbabwe.
• Experience in evaluating agricultural value chains and investment opportunities.
• Experience in programmes aimed at increasing access to finance and investment for agricultural value chains.
• Strong research, data gathering and organisational skills.
• Strong quantitative corporate finance including financial modelling.
• Demonstratable portfolio of executed investment mandates.
• Demonstrated creativity, taking initiative, multi-task and systematic thinking in a team environment.
