Job Description
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is a statutory body mandated to ensure the provision of a level playing field for sale, reliable and sustainable energy supply through effective regulation. ZERA seeks the services of a highly competent, professional and results oriented individual who is able to take the organisation to a higher level in the fallowing role: Information Technology (ITA) Administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Information Technology. Officer (ITO), the Key Job Functions of this position will be:
• Maintaining the ongoing reliability, performance; and support of the SAP application environment.
• Handling technical related support calls/queries, and diagnoses of problems, investigates resolutions, resolves and communicates problem resolutions
• Monitoring data-centre health using pre-existing management. tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
• Assisting in the development of the organization's JOT strategy, enterprise model, cost/benefit models, and administration plan.
• Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
• Installing and upgrading computer components, software and managing virtual servers
• Troubleshooting hardware and software errors, documenting problems and resolutions and assessing impact of issues
• Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and
failover procedures
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
• Ensuring the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in
Accordance to Authority’s needs and best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
• Managing user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
• Key Job Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, information technology/Management Information Systems
• At least 5 years' of experience in managing ICT systems or infrastructures
• At least 3 years SAP system support experience
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of ICT supporting infrastructures like Hardware, Application platforms,
Storage, Databases, and Operating Systems.
• Working knowledge of VMWare virtualization
• Operational knowledge of LINUX, and Windows Server operating systems
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification an added advantage
