Job Description

A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen within UNICEF Zimbabwe's Health & Nutrition Section, for a passionate and committed Health Officer (EPI Cold Chain & Logistics) NO-2 level position.

The Health Officer (EPI Cold Chain & Logistics) is primarily responsible for providing technical support to UNICEF Country Office and the Ministry of Health and Child Care and other partners in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the EPI activities in Zimbabwe with specific focus on strengthening the cold chain and other EPI logistics. The Health Officer reports to the Health Manager for supervision.

Technical and operational support to program implementation
Program management, monitoring and delivery of results
Report writing and documentation

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

A University Degree in public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology or other health related sciences is required.

Experience:

At least 2 years professional experience in immunisation supplies and logistics management;
Excellent understanding of child health immunisation issues expected;
Very strong planning, conceptualizing and consultation skills;
Experience in working with Government and civil society organizations in relation to capacity strengthening in developing context.
Prior work experience in Zimbabwe is an asset
Language requirements:

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset
