Two (2) x Health assistants: Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC)

Location: Insiza and Lupane
Background
Insiza Godlwayo AIDS Council (IGAC) is implementing the Pathways OVC Project in Insiza and Lupane District in Matabeleland South and North Provinces. Pathways is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The project is targeting the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children and their Caregivers through streamlined individual based interventions premised on the project four domains in Healthy, Safe, Stable and Schooled. IGAC is looking for suitably qualified individuals to fill in the above mentioned posts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Objectives
Coordination of District Health interventions with Ministry of Health and Child Care and other relevant stakeholders: facilitate linkages and coordination between community and clinical partners and participate in monthly clinic –community partner review meeting; support the district improve to improve adherence and retention to care and treatment services among People living with HIV and facilitate linkages and coordination between community and clinical partners; work with other team members and stakeholders to map, identify and enroll onto the Pathways key and priority populations in the districts of operation. Participate in district coordination meetings and provide key feedback to the district teams.
Facilitate provision of HIV services: Linking and collaborating with community and clinical partners for effective bi-directional referrals; Assist in implementing Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission (EMTCT) and Early infant diagnosis (EID) and malnutrition; Coordination Integrated Mother Baby Course to support EID; Assist in implementation of Index case testing and strengthening Index case at health facility and community for consenting clients and conduct viral load tracking and ensure that those that are found to be virally unsuppressed are linked to appropriate services; Tracking all HIV exposed infants, ensuring that they have all screened for EID and malnutrition; Co-ordinate HIV risk assessment for all OVCS with unknown status, screening for TB and making necessary referrals and conduct viral load tracking and ensure that those that are found to be virally unsuppressed are linked to appropriate services, ensure children living with HIV access viral load testing timeously; Ensure referral completion for all HTS services; Provide follow up for clients who need enhanced care.
Capacity building of community based cadres: Assist in training community cadres in HIV treatment Literacy, Provide regular mentoring and monitoring of community cadres to provide comprehensive packages of Pathways services to clients; facilitate monthly meeting with community cadres and provide feedback on programming.
Reporting: Compile reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as required; track and monitor case documentation; document best practices in form of case studies abstracts, video clips in addition to the routine monthly updates, quarterly and annual reports. Work with MEAL to ensure adequate supply of tools and quality reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Key requirements
Degree/ Diploma in health related field e.g nursing, clinical practice or community health, registered with the relevant professional Council in Zimbabwe; At least 2 years working experience in Health and community development. Training in HIV management is a distinct advantage; Proven understanding of linkages between HIV and AIDS and child protection. Should be a team player and able to work with minimum supervision, effective communicator; Should be computer literate (Microsoft word and excel); Flexible to work weekend and after hours and be on call whenever need arises.
