Job Description

This is a middle management position responsible for leading talent and organisational development initiatives for our organization and it’s local and regional subsidiaries. The position requires self-starter with exceptional self-management, problem-solving ability and a knack for questioning convention. Reporting to the Group HR Executive, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following

Duties and Responsibilities

• Planning, organising, developing, implementing and providing effective management of the organisational development strategy that facilitates the alignment and integration of people effort, processes and technology with the business goals and culture.
• Applying knowledge of organisational assessment to designing, developing, implementing and evaluating change management programmmes in a way that minimises business disruption while maintaining employee wellbeing.
• Leading the review, decomposition and reconstruction of business processes and organisational models and make recommendations for own-run outsource decisions for the purposes of organisational efficiency.
• Championing the implementation and maintenance of the Group quality management systems in line with the ISO standards.
• Championing the continuous improvement, alignment, and implementation of the Group performance management system, making sure that it is simple and easy to implement.
• Championing the employee engagement and culture agenda, to ensure continuous alignment of employee effort to the Group’s mission, vision, and shared values.
• Designing and implementing strategically-linked leadership pipeline development and technical competency acquisition programmes, which include, graduate development, supervisory development, management development, TOPP, CFA and actuarial development programmes.
• Leading the implementation of the learning and development cycle to ensure that the Group realises the return of investment from people development programmes.
• Effectively managing the department’s people, financial and material resources.

Qualifications and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in behavioural sciences plus a relevant qualification/training in organisation development, facilitation, or related.
• Postgraduate qualification in business management is an added advantage.
• Seven years’ experience in the human resource management field, two of which should have been in talent and organisational development at managerial level.
• Demonstrable track record of implementing sustainable talent and organisational development initiatives.
• Tech-savvy individual with the ability to remotely implement talent and organisational development initiatives.
• Practical knowledge of using statistical packages and qualitative data analysis tools to covert data into information for the purposes of evidence-based decision-making.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft office packages to present information for the purposes of decision-making.
• Exceptional communication and group dynamics management skills.
