One of our clients in the transport sector is looking for a handyman to join immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervising multi-disciplinary yard maintenance team as well as monitoring premises housekeeping as per SHEQ requirements.
Apply faultfinding techniques, conduct root cause analysis and regular plant inspections.
Undertake facilities maintenance throughout the premises i.e electrical and plumbing maintenance.
Installation of industrial water pipes as well as repairing the existing
Maintenance and repair of fluid/liquid transfer pumps ie underground boreholes, booster pumps, high pressure pumps and fuel offloading pumps.
Installation, maintenance and repair of pneumatic pipes and valves.
Maintenance, repair and servicing of hydraulic powered equipment e.g hydraulic tyre fitting machine.
Observing and listening to operating machines in order to diagnose malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments.
Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency
Generate engineering blueprints, study sample parts and engineering information and determine methods and sequence of operations needed to fabricate.
Support metalworking projects from planning and designing, fabricating and machining, assembling, inspecting and testing
Inspection and repair of truck fifth wheels including machining of worn out components.
Participation in SHEQ issues ie work place safety, health and environmental management issues.
Qualifications and Experience
Class 1 journeyman card
Certificate of Apprenticeship
National Certificate in Machine shop Engineering
