Job Description

The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) seeks qualified, suitable and experienced candidates to fill the following positions on a permanent basis
Northern Region - Aspindale, Kachuta, Lions Den, Mt Darwin
Eastern Region - Chivi, Dewedzo, Gutu, Kotwa, Mutasa, Timbermills, Jerera, Makambe
Southern Region - Beitbridge, Binga, Charandura, Esigodini, Filabusi, Gwanda, Lupane, Manoti, Maphisa, Mvuma, Plumtree, Tongogara, Tsholotsho, Hwange, Plumtree, Mataga, Zhombe

Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of Duties
• Supervises preparation of stacking area and building of stacks. Requests for depot storage resources e.g. tarpaulins on time.
• Maintains tarpaulins and Stack History Sheet (Ops 83).
• Checks physically quantity and quality of stocks being dispatched and received.
• Ensures quality management in grain handling and storage through conducting weekly inspections for infestation and moisture content for grain in silos and on stacks.
• inspects grain for infestation weekly and reporting findings to the Depot Assistant/Depot Head.
• Ensures daily and weekly stock counts.
• Conscientise and monitors employees on safety rules in grain handling.
• Ensures daily handover/takeover of stocks with the Depot Assistant/Depot Head and the Security Guard.
• Supervises Stack builders, Carriers and General Workers.
• Ensures housekeeping and depot hygiene.
• Participates in the whole value chain of grain from production to marketing.
• Any other duties as assigned by the superior.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience:
• 5 '0' Levels including English Language and Mathematics/Accounts.
• Diploma in Supervisory Management.
• Diploma in Agriculture is an added advantage.
• At least one-year experience in supervisory position.
Core Competences:
• Knowledge of GMB operations
• Excellent grain handling skills.
• Good with figures.
• Good communication and supervisory skills
