Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a diversified concern for the position of Group Projects Manager. The role entails achieving set projects targets through efficiently and effectively utilising all material, financial and human resources. The role requires an energetic and mature individual who is experienced in managing various projects with technical knowledge in construction, maintenance, quantity surveying and dealing with various sub-contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Monitoring and controlling project resources and ensuring that various projects are completed within set timelines.
 Reporting to the Executive on the state of various projects with recommendations on the effective and efficient use of time, people, materials and financial resources.
 Forecasting potential problems and risk identification and developing strategies and initiatives to minimise and mitigate the risks.
 Support, manage and provide technical assistance to various artisans and project staff.
 Take a lead role in site identification and ability to work with various municipal and town councils.
 Develop various construction drawings and ensuring that these drawings are in line with the business strategy.
 Actively participate and lead site meeting, subcontractors’ identification and associated agreements, site measurements and project cash-flow management.
 Ensuring quality control and assurance in all projects and maintenance assignments.
 Developing strategies of ensuring that all projects meets the regulatory framework particularly licence agreements, relevant permits and approvals from regulating authorities

Qualifications and Experience

Person Specification
The ideal person must possess the following:
 Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management.
 At least five years’ experience in a projects/construction set up at managerial level preferably in a large scale set up.
 Sound knowledge of various project management IT packages such as MS Office/Project, Autocad etc.
 Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and working with numbers.
 Project planning and work scheduling are prerequisites
