Job Description
Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producer in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates the Ngezi Underground mines, Ngezi concentrators and Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position will be part of the dynamic team based at SMC reporting to the General Manager Engineering and operates the Ngezi Underground Mines, Ngezi Concentrator and the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC).

JOB TITLE — Group Civil Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall civil engineering responsibility for the group
Enforce standards to ensure zero harm to people and compliance to legal, SHEQ and other requirements
Develop and effectively implement civil engineering standards and best practices
Assume full responsibility for the management of civil engineering packages during the project life cycle on, among others, the following projects:
Housing, water, waste water, roads, mines and processing plant infrastructure
Tailing storage facilities including penstocks
Key CSR projects
Effective maintenance and physical asset management for all civil engineering facilities
Participate in plant and mine civil structures feasibility studies, design reviews and technology selection
Develop and implement standards to monitor, inspect, test and /or maintain the integrity of infrastructure, civil structures and other relevant services throughout their lifetime
Inspect conditions of such structures, evaluate residual life, develop and implement risk-based mitigation plans
Liaise with local and licensing authorities on civil engineering facilities and services
Obtain and maintain relevant licenses for civil engineering infrastructure and services
Develop civil engineering skills and maintain appropriate technical and reference documentation
Qualifications and Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
BSc Civil Engineering Honours
Post graduate project management qualification such as PMP, MPM, PGMDPM
Experience in contract management
Experience in development and application of FIDIC or other contracts
Familiarity with mining and mineral processing equipment
At least two years of recognized, structured Graduate Development program
At least ten years working experience, three of which should have been within a mineral processing equipment installation project environment
Exposure to computerized project management tools and techniques.
