Job Description
We are seeking a Risk expert with a broad skillset to provide second line oversight and management across all aspects of risks in CBZ Holdings, including credit risk, operational risk, financial risks (market risk, liquidity risk, insurance risk, etc.), capital and asset-liability-management, non-financial risks (business continuity, legal, environmental, social, governance, reputational, etc.) and all regulatory and prudential matters. The role will involve daily interaction with lending, trading and control functions to challenge and approve new business opportunities in conjunction with first line approvers, supported by a team of dedicated risk analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Be responsible for the oversight and design of Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, which includes owning the Risk Taxonomy, Risk Appetite Framework, Basel and IFRS risk-related requirements and will report into the Board’s Risk Committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of the risk management policies and procedures used across the Group. Provide ongoing regular reporting of key appetite metrics to the Board and Management. Be jointly responsible, with the Group CFO, for developing and maintaining the ICAAP and Recovery Plan documents and for designing and overseeing the internal processes regarding their governance and compliance. Ensure that risk management models and methodologies for the Group are consistent, pertinent, and coordinate with all stakeholders for the effective management of the Group’s operating environment. Ensure market surveillance to evaluate developments in economies, asset classes, sectors, and industries that may impact the risk profile of Group’s portfolios. Develop and monitor the analytical tools to measure risk in the portfolios and advise on enhancements required to meet regulatory and functional requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Banking and Finance, Banking Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Actuarial Science and Economics, or similar.
A Quantitative Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance/ Banking/ Financial Engineering/ Statistics/ Operations Research /Actuarial Science would be an advantage.
Professional Certificate/Diploma in Risk Management e.g. FRM, PRM, CERM. Solid exposure to financial/statistical modelling.
10 years’ experience in Risk Management, Audit or Compliance environment 5 of which should be at Senior Manager level in a similar role.

Executive presence with good communication and presentation skills
Must be analytical and have advanced research skills
Solid organisational skills, focus on detail, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to relate well with people at all levels, and capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Excellent computer skills and experience in Excel are a must.
