Qualifications and Experience


Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Community Health or Public Health, a Masters degree in Community Health or Public Health and a first degree in medicine and surgery (MBChB) or equivalent. Successful candidates are expected to have a track record of productive scholarly research and train both undergraduate and postgraduate students in any of the following areas; primary health care, public health, health systems and its pillars, behavioural sciences, field and community attachment and research methodologies. Applicants who can show some progress towards acquiring a relevant doctoral degree may be considered. Possession of teaching experience at tertiary or University level and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be an added advantage. Successful applicants without a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education will be required to obtain the same within the first three (3) years of appointment.
