A leading organization in the freight, forwarding and customs clearing sector is looking
for a vibrant, talented and motivated individual to fill the post of Forwarding Manager.
The position will be based in Harare and will be entirely responsible for the forwarding
business in the Zimbabwean operations.
Departmental budgeting,
Marketing freight forwarding business,
Plan, implementation and control of the department’s operations
including responsibility for vessel bookings, stacks, tracking, collation
of shipping documents,
Coordinate Forwarding Operations with local, regional and
international offices
Service clients by advising on most effective and efficient mode of
cargo movement, most appropriate routes, legislative requirements
and educates on emerging trends in the industry.
Liaises with various transporters as well as other third parties for the
best rates,
Works closely with, Shipping lines, customers, work colleagues and
third parties including various ports and port authorities,
Ensures all department works is invoiced out to clients timeously
Reporting (weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
Managing and coordinating the timing of intra and intermodal
transfers, road, rail, sea and port activities,
Managing & supervising departmental staff,
MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:
Degree/Higher Diploma in Total Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or related
field,
Familiarity with Incoterms 2018 a pre-requisite.
Security Clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Must have proven track record in a shipping/forwarding department of a large
exporter.
Minimum 5 years in shipping/forwarding.
Capacity to work under pressure
Ability to communicate at all levels
Exposure/familiarity to all forms of transport including airfreight.
