Job Description

FINANCE MANAGER: NATIONAL GALLERY ZIMBABWE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to control the finances of the biggest Arts Institution in Zimbabwe, reporting to the Executive Director.
PURPOSE
The Finance Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Maintenance of accurate books of accounts
• Supervise the daily banking requirements
• Production of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end accounts
• Financial reporting and general ledger reviews
• Developing and managing financial systems/models – Accounting Manuals
• Cash flow forecast and management
• Preparation and management of budgets
• Formulation and implementation of financial strategy
• Statutory returns compliance – VAT, PAYE, NSSA and Pensions
• Supervision of subordinates in accounts department
• Advise Senior Management on Investment options and financial matters
• Any other duties as may be directed by the superior

Qualifications and Experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
An Accounting Bachelor’s degree; HND in Accounting; Full Professional qualification such as CIS; ACCA; CIMA

Technical Skills and Prior Experience
• 5 years minimum prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Experience working in a government setting.
• Experience with Pastel Accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power-point and Word.
• Good oral and written communication skills; self- motivation; accounting awareness; initiative and ability to work as a team. Excellent problem solving, analytical, IT and numerical abilities.
