An exciting opportunity has arisen in a growing FMCG concern for the position of Finance Manager. The role entails achieving set financial targets through efficiently and effectively utilising all material, financial and human resources. The role requires an energetic and dynamic individual who has an in-depth understanding of dealing with financial affairs of the manufacturing concern. The Finance Manager is expected to manage all aspects in acquisition and utilisation of financial resources
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyse business trends, costs, revenues and financial commitments and obligations of the business with a view of creating a return on investment for the shareholders.
Timely preparation of management accounts and financial reports as required by the company and any regulatory framework.
Tax planning and ensuring that all tax affairs are attended and resolved in an efficient and effective manner. This involves the preparation and submission of various taxation heads such as VAT, Withholding Tax, QPDs, ITF12
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws i.e. licenses, health regulations, labour laws etc.
Setting up and overseeing the internal control system including overall control of all business financial transactions.
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts for internal decision making.
General administration by overseeing the operations of the finance department, set and design a framework for achievement and measurement of departmental goals
Build and sustain relationships with suppliers and producers and keep them informed of the state of their payments in the event of delays.
Providing leadership to the finance department and championing a culture of performance management.
Process all payments and assist with a robust cash-flow management system.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal person must possess the following:
A University Degree in Accounting, Finance from a reputable University or College
Three years in a managerial position preferably in an FMCG environment
Professional certification such as ACCA or CIMA is added advantage
Experience in working with executives/directors providing professional, accurate and strategic financial advice.
Must have a strong understanding of basic manufacturing and value addition processes.
Must have an understanding of various statutes governing the financial profession and financial standards
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with a high concern for order and quality
