Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

The role - what we expect from you:
 Execute the identification, assessment/measurement, management, monitoring and modification of the ERM control cycle as detailed in the Group Risk Charter and supporting policy documents and procedure manuals;
 Coordinate with and provide assistance to, subsidiary Risk Champions and Management to ensure correct adoption/implementation of risk management frameworks;
 Monitor subsidiary operations risk levels and compare these to established risk thresholds;
 Prepare reports for periodic risk reviews and assessments at subsidiary level and maintain a risk management database;
 Validate risk charges, provisions and reserves that subsidiaries hold in line with Basel II/III and Solvency II requirements as applicable;
 Verify that all disclosures made by subsidiaries are representative of underlying risks and validating all risk measurement frameworks and tools;
 Consolidate reporting templates and dashboards for integrated risk reporting;
 Interrogate risk review output from templates to ensure that reports are consistent with underlying risks faced by subsidiaries;
 Follow up on risk issues and making regular updates including updating risk registers to reflect emerging risks profile;
 Sensitize stakeholders to the importance of active risk management and embracing ERM.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Skills and experience required:
 Degree in any of Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Economics, Business Studies, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
 3 years’ experience in risk, audit or regulatory experience an added advantage.
 Superior programming skills in R, Python, Java, C# and VBA and practical experience of Machine Learning.
 Good understanding of the Basel II/III and Solvency II mandatory risk frameworks.
 Strong analytical skills.
 Good computer skills, with working knowledge of using R or Python and Advanced MS Excel and Machine Learning.
 Good verbal and written communication.
