The incumbent shall be responsible for supervising over 200 cane haulage truck drivers on harvesting shift field operations in order to ensure that the department meets its daily cane delivery targets.
• Allocating trucks, establishing shifts and delegating duties to drivers.
• Ensuring that all trucks have proper legal paperwork and drivers have required documentation.
• Updating daily drivers’ shift schedules and driver turnover reports.
• Compiling driver performance ratings taking into account accidents and incidents
• Managing and reconciling fuel consumption against trips undertaken.
• Ensuring that all vehicles adhere to road and company vehicle policies and harvesting field operations.
• Issuing necessary stationary and equipment to drivers and monitoring its condition.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Logistics Manager
• At least a Higher National Diploma in Transport/Fleet Management/ Accounting & Administration, or Logistics. A degree would be an added advantage.
• A clean drivers’ license with a Defensive Driving Certificate
• At least two years’ experience in a similar position
• High computer literacy with good knowledge of Excel
