The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) seeks qualified, suitable and experienced candidates to fill the following positions on a permanent basis. Job purpose:
To oversee depot operations by coordinating and managing grains value chain at depot level.
Summary of Duties
Transformation of GMB to actively participate in the agricultural supply chain management through;
• Preparation of the annual grain-handling plan for the depot. • Participation in farmer identification exercise for inputs schemes and account for all inputs disbursed. • Maintain farmer' database. • GMB being the biggest contractor through the Government sponsored Inputs schemes, the Depot Manager to account for the Inputs distributed through Intake to be received. • Work closely with ARDA, ZINWA, AGRITEX, CBZ to promote production. • Produce weekly progress meeting reports with Agritex. • Accounts for stocks. • Ensures quality management ingrain handling and storage. • Provides agronomy advice to farmers where necessary. • Monitors and evaluates farmer activities from field to market. • Develops and maintains sound relations to satisfy the needs of farmers and all other stakeholders. • Ensures proper administration of personnel records and proper utilization of labour. • Ensures total compliance with the SHE Policy for safety and health of employees daily. • Sets targets and conducts staff appraisals/evaluations using Integrated Results Based Management (IRBM). • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Superior.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5 '0' levels including English Language and Mathematics/Accounts. • Degree in Agriculture/Crop Science/Agronomy. • Degree in Business Studies/Marketing/Human Resources/Accounting will be an added advantage. Full CIS or any other relevant accounting qualification is an added advantage. At least 5 years work experience in management storage and handling of grain. Valid dean class 4 driver's license.
