Cost Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining cost accounting system, documentation, and records
• Determining costs and efficiency of company purchasing activities
• Reviewing costs for all external inventory and material purchases
• Analysing and recommending costs and cost savings
• Collecting and compiling purchasing data for analysis
• Preparing and completing internal cost audits
• Reviewing and documenting inventory and material purchases
• Preparing documents and interpreting financial information regarding cost improvements for managers and executives.
• Maintaining company accounting procedures and processes
• Presenting cost estimates and budgets for new purchases
• Accurate recording and updating existing and new purchased materials and goods
• Compiling documentation on standard costs and company production costs
• Forecasting and planning future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Accounting
• Full CIMA, CIS, ACCA or equivalent
• 3 years experience
• SAP knowledge will be an added advantage
