Duties and Responsibilities

The BRACT programme seeks the services of a consultant to undertake analysis of Gender and Inclusion in the project operational wards, or widely in the operational districts. The analysis will enable the project to assess householder gender dynamics, the conditions and different (or similar) needs and vulnerabilities of women, men and other marginalised groups, most importantly youths and disabled people, in order to respond to their practical needs, as well as the positions within a socio-economic setting, and the extant power dynamics between them in a given context, which ultimately shape and influence well being outcomes; in order to respond to their strategic and practical needs.

Considering the work already delivered by the project and the obtaining COVID19 context, the gender and inclusion analysis aims to assist BRACT and its stakeholders to: Better understand the gendered dynamics of various shocks and stresses; Identify and analyse the vulnerabilities and coping mechanisms of men, women and other marginalised groups to guide project interventions; Identify social norms, structures and practices that influence inequality between women, men and other marginalised groups in the target communities e.g. gender-based violence.

Qualifications and Experience


A recognised post graduate university degree in any Social Sciences including International Development, Development Studies, Gender studies (at a minimum of master’s level);
Sound knowledge of major development issues, especially related to gender and social inclusion, livelihoods and resilience building, climate change adaptation, safeguarding and protection;
At least 5 years of consultancy experience in the area of gender and social inclusion, M&E, power conflicts as well as resilience building and/or sustainable livelihoods;
Extensive experience in programme reviews, developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including theory of change, indicators, setting milestones and targets;
Extensive M&E experience and knowledge in conducting research using mixed methods, including participatory studies for issues about women and PLWDs.
