Contract Duration: Three (3) Months

Scope of work
Across the organization, IRC Zimbabwe has a diverse donor portfolio totalling US $5 million comprising six grants. The Communications Consultant will be responsible for, documenting case studies, stories of most significant change, creating visual content such as photos and videos and training staff in communications (story writing, photography and documentation of most significant change stories).

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Capture pictures and stories on the work done by the IRC and the ZRBF – PROGRESS consortium; Develop case studies on the changes in the lives of the clients we serve which will be shared with donors; Build IRC and Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) consortium staffs’ capacities in taking photos and videos and writing case studies; Design structure and timing of messages through a variety of communication mediums such as intranet, email, face-to-face, videos, printed material, newsletters, fliers and brochures etc; Facilitating symposiums and shows where IRC and ZRBF work needs to be show cased

Qualifications and Experience

Skills/requirements
Five years or more of communications experience in internal/corporate communications, marketing or social media; Degree, preferably in communications, marketing or public relations; Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends in communications, develop related strategies and effectively translate them into actionable plans; Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver presentations to large and small groups; deep understanding of grammar, strong attention to detail and fine-tuned editorial skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop publishing tools. Experience managing an intranet is desirable; Experience in video and visual content creation / editing tools; Experience in managing events would be an added advantage
