Background
Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust, is a not-for-profit development organisation serving as an active social transformation agent working within communities through investments in innovative and sustainable creative sector capacities. It envisions a world in which Culture and the Arts, imbued with Africaness, thrive and are sustainable; contributing to wealth creation for African communities while its purpose is to connect African communities with financial and technical resources; to lead African Thought research and discourse and to harness the power of the creative arts to help positively change the lives of ordinary people. A unique enabler within society, Culture Fund helps the mainstreaming of innovative solutions into sustainable development interventions. Over the last decade, the Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust (Culture Fund) has supported active development and progressive social change agents through more than 1,000 creative sector projects.

Position Summary
Co-funded by the Embassy of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), CultureACTIONs 2.0 is an extension of a pilot phase completed in March 2020. It has the overall objective to harness the transformative power of the Creative Arts to challenge retrogressive societal norms aiming at; reducing gender based violence (GBV) amongst women and girls aged between 15 and 44 years; raising climate change and environmental sustainability awareness within targeted communities, especially among children. Culture Fund is looking for a Communications and Visibility Graduate Intern who will be based in Harare for an initial period of six (6) months. The incumbent will play a critical role in assisting with digital communication innovations, communicating and visibility pivoting and multiplier-effect enabling for CultureACTIONs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Tasks and Responsibilities
Help grow Culture Fund digital media footprint and positioning; Support in strengthening of the CultureACTIONs communication and visibility plan; Support in designing of project visibility tools (banners, brochures, signboards, …); Participate in drafting project factsheets, change and success stories; Support in designing project related IEC materials (Information, Education and Communication); Conduct field visits with colleagues and develop appropriate communication messages and take photos; Support in writing press releases and social media content; Follow up on Culture Fund and CultureACTIONs social media platforms; Support in coordination with selected media to disseminate CultureACTIONs events; Support in reporting on the communication and visibility plan; Posting planned Tweets and using tools like Tweet Deck to plan forward-looking Tweets over weekends and holidays; Posting updates to the Culture Fund and CultureACTIONs Facebook account in consultation with team.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidate Profile
University degree or diploma in media studies, journalism, graphic design and/or any related field; Interest in arts and culture and the development sectors; Think creatively, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends in communications, especially digital Familiar with writing media articles, designing communication and visibility tools to highlight projects; Experience in communication (press) and visibility is preferable; Experience in professional photos taking is an asset; Good organizational skills, especially related to organizing events, meetings and workshops; Good computer skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, Email/Internet, Photoshop); Graphic design skills or knowledge of desktop publishing software (InDesign) are desirable; Good relationship with press agencies; Very good in English.
