Job Description

Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) is an autonomous parastatal under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. It is an internationally accredited examinations board. ZIMSEC is an examinations board responsible for assessment. evaluation and documentation of the academic readiness, learning progress. and skill acquisition of students at primary and secondary school levels in Zimbabwe. The Council is inviting suitably qualified and motivated persons for the following vacant positions that have arisen.

Assistant Regional Manager X 2

The position of Assistant Regional Manager is a Junior Managerial post within ZIMSEC and the successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervising the day-to-day activities at the Regional Office;
• Collection and consolidation of entry data for Grade Seven, Ordinary Level and Advanced Level;
• Arranging and supervising the marking of Grade Seven scripts and collection and submission of Grade Seven, Ordinary and Advanced Level coursework;
• Supervise junior staff and liaise with Head Office counterparts to ensure efficient and fully documented movement of materials like scripts. syllabuses. results, certificates and circulars;
• Undertaking a documented and secured distribution of live question papers exercise;
• Conducting workshops and seminars on examinations administration;
• Carrying out any other duties assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

• Be a University graduate and a holder of a teaching diploma or teaching certificate or equivalent qualifications.
• A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
• Have been in the employ of ZIMSEC or the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education at various levels.
• Have at least five (5) years working experience either for ZIMSEC or Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
• Have experience in conducting and supervising Examinations.
• Be capable of training Heads of Centres and Invigilators in the conduct of examinations.
• Thorough knowledge of examinations administration:
• Sound IT literacy;
• Results focused:
• Conceptual thinking and proactive;
• Organizational awareness and interpersonal understanding:
• Self-starter and all round communicator.
