Assistant Engineer Grade 13
Duties and Responsibilities
. ASSISTANTENGINEER -GRADE11
• Project management and supervision of construction and maintenance works.
• Coordinating Water and Sanitation (WASH) activities.
• Supervision of construction and maintenance of roads, water and sewer reticulation systems.
• Supervision and monitoring of contractors/ consultancy services related to civil works.
• Carryout technical designs of structures within the Council area.
• Assist in procurement of goods and services related to Engineering and works.
• Develops and controls the annual business plan and budget for the engineering and works department
• Formulate strategies for the preservation and empowerment of the town's road network and associated infrastructure including street furniture.
• Approves engineering designs and specifications related to civil, electronic and mechanical projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Job Requirements
• Bsc Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Water Supplies and Sanitation.
• Membership of the Zimbabwe Council of Engineers.
• Master of Science Degree in Water/Engineering/Projects Management is an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years post qualification experience in engineering.
• At least 30 years old and mature.
• A citizen of Zimbabwe.
• A dean record of service within the local government fraternity.
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing data e.g. excel, AutoCAD.
• Computer literacy
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse and disseminate significance amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Hands on experience in public procurement and knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Asset Mt (Chapter 22:23)and procurement regulations
• Clean class 4 drivers' licence.
