Job Description
Providing Laboratory support by performing coal samples analysis following Standard Operating Procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparation of coal samples.
• Processing and analyzing routine coal samples in accordance with industry-standard testing methods established by laboratory management and procedures.
• Observing results and quality control data to ensure compliant conditions.
• Informing supervisor of any deviation from acceptable quality control and implementing corrective action.
• Trouble shooting and maintaining all laboratory equipment as well as maintaining good housekeeping throughout the laboratory.
• Producing technical reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience
• Holds at least a Diploma in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy or Metallurgical Assaying from a recognised institution.
• At least 3 years experience in a similar post in coal mining industry.
• Conversant with operation of analytical and manual preparation equipment.
• Sound organisational, reliability, accuracy, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Good technical report writing with coupled proficiency in MS OFFICE packages.
